MONTRÉAL, May 18, 2022 - Festival Metro Metro, one of the largest urban music festivals in Canada, in partnership with the Olympic Park, Midway Group andDNA LIVE, is 48 hours away. Here is everything festival-goers need to know!

FESTIVAL HOURS

Doors open at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 20, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22.

GETTING TO THE FESTIVAL

By public transportation

The Esplanade is located above the Pie-IX metro station, on the green line, near the bus stops 97, 139 and 439. Considering that there is a lot of construction work around the station, please use the interior corridor and head to the main entrance of the Olympic Stadium to access the festival. Don’t forget to purchase your transit fare for the return trip in advance to avoid long lines at the end of the night.

By active transportation

Bicycle access via the bike paths on Rachel Street, Maisonneuve Park and Bennett Street. Bike racks are available a few metres from the entrance, as well as in the P2 parking lot. BIXI stations are located on Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue, near 4545, as well as near the Botanical Garden, the Sports Centre, and Maurice Richard Arena. Check out BIXI’s interactive map.

Accessibility for people with reduced mobility

The Esplanade and the Festival are accessible for people with reduced mobility. Sanitary facilities adapted to people in wheelchairs are located at the entrance of the administrative offices at 4141 Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue.

RESTRICTIONS ON THE SITE

For the safety of all festival-goers, certain articles are not allowed on the festival site. It is highly recommended that you take a look at the list before coming to the event. The list is available right here: https://metrometro.ca/faq/

FOOD & DRINKS

Food will be available on the festival site, to suit different diet types. There will be water fountains on the site; empty reusable bottles are more than welcome.

UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER

Metro Metro reminds festival-goers to stay hydrated and to keep cool during the weekend! Warm weather arrived early this year. Make sure to check the weather conditions and to dress accordingly.

  • Respect the environment;

  • Respect others around you;

  • Respect yourselves – know your limits!

SANITARY MEASURES

We are following the current situation and the new measures put in place by the Government of Quebec very closely. We take the safety and health of festival-goers, artists, staff and the community very seriously. We recommend that everyone follows the guidelines and protocols proposed by public health officials. The choice to wear a mask is at each individual’s discretion. The population is invited to respect those who wish to continue to use this method to effectively protect themselves from COVID-19.

About the Metro Metro Festival

Metro Metro Festival was founded in 2019 by Olivier Primeau of the Midway Group, with the aim of creating the first and most important event celebrating hip hop music and its artists in the Canada. The first edition was marked by the presence of Cardi B., Snoop Dog, Future and Sean Paul, among others. In 2022, the festival returns with its second edition on May 20, 21, 22 on the Esplanade of the Olympic Park.
