Montréal, May 20th, 2021 — Since the debut of his viral, chart topping smash ‘Stuck in the Middle,’ its apparent that Tai Verdes has conquered music audiences worldwide. Now, hundreds-of-millions of streams and billions of views later, the buzzing, Los Angeles-based recording artist has accomplished yet another milestone, with the release of his highly anticipated debut album, TV out today via Arista Records. The charismatic 13-track album sees the critically acclamined and innovative singer-songerwriter unpack a chronological story of the last tumultuous four years of his life, as if it was a feel-good TV show. LISTEN HERE.
Written and produced with an eclectic group of songwriters and producers including Adam Friedman (Mike Posner, Black Eyed Peas, Sam Feldt), Ryan Linvill (Sasha Slone), Wayne Miller (Christina Perri, AlunaGeorge, Snakehips) and Pom Pom (Carly Rae Jepsen, John Legend, THEY.) – TV details Tai Verdes’ journey of dropping out of college, experience with drugs, relationships, breakups and eventually trying to find happiness on his own. Grafting over the span of twelve months, Verdes has stripped himself bare, metaphorically speaking, tunnelling through his most intricate and intimate perceptions and insecurities to craft his debut album with an informed hindsight. “It’s my life within the theme of a television show series really. Ultimately it’s about being and feeling yourself.”

TV LP includes previous singles ‘we would have some cute kids’, ‘BAD BAD News,’ ‘DRUGS’ and ‘Stuck In The Middle’, along seven new tracks. Three months into the COVID-19 pandemic, singer-songwriter Tai Verdes was an essential worker with a nine-to-five job at a Verizon Wireless store. Now he has one of the biggest songs in the U.S., which saw his social following and streaming listeners skyrocket in 2020; gaining a genuine, engaged fanbase despite of the unprecedented global epidemic. It has not gone unnoticed - Tai has received plaudits from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Nylon, Genius, Ladygunn, Lyrical Lemonade, The Independent, EARMILK, NOTION, PAUSE, Noctis Magazine, Euphoria Magazine and 1883 Magazine. In addition, he’s had support from Spotify (New Music Friday), Apple Music (New Music Daily) and Amazon Music (Fresh Pop, Breakthrough Pop) to name a few. Tai has gained praise from Apple Music’s Zane Lowe and also performed for TikTok’s virtual New Year’s Eve 2020 party, hosted by Lil Yachty and Brittany Broski.
Tai Verdes’ journey might’ve been rapid, but TV illuminates the fact that he couldn’t be further from a “one-hit wonder”. His maiden release is multifaceted but in an elegant, intentional and relatable way. Verdes is a welcomed return to authentic story-telling pitched perfectly for a generation that needs no gimmicks. “I’m gonna be a problem,” says the 6’7 singer with a smile, who carries himself with as much charisma as stature. “I love everything that’s happening. But this is not a one song thing, this is a 10-album thing.”
