Odreii Launches her first album: Sweatin’ Gold

Montréal, October 29th, 2021 - Odreii releases date for upcoming highly anticipated album Sweatin’ Gold, a genre bending project mixing afro, dancehall, urban and latin sounds topped by the artists’ edgy pop writing skills filled with women empowering messages. Odreii, who we got to discover with her song Runs In Mi Blood, which has played a lot on Quebec radios, reveals who she is with this first album in career. The album is produced by Moroccan-born Montrealer Pako, an eclectic and original music producer who has worked locally and internationally on projects for artists NBA Youngboy, Anthony Kavanagh, Corneille, Zach Zoya, Ragers, and many others.

“ I love writing music, playing my guitar, performing, and I hadn’t realised until we were hit by the pandemic just how much I NEEDED it in my life. Music gets me through hard times, reminds me of who I am and keeps me in shape winning throughout the day. It’s the first time I wrote an entire project without caring about how it would be perceived by others. I read my lyrics with a big ass smile, and it felt amazingly liberating as a woman, as a creative person, as a human being just trying to BE. I hope others can get some peace of mind and energy out of this album, cause I DO everytime I listen to this entire project. No lie, every song is a vibe! ” - Odreii

Alongside the album release, Odreii showcases one of the album’s track entitled “Own Lane”, a colourful pop trap record. Odreii wrote this song as a reply to a friend who kept steering her in a direction they believed was better for her. Odreii’s got her own journey, and shares it in Own Lane.

Odreii will present Sweatin’ Gold at its launch, broadcasted on Rampe de Lancement, an initiative of PalmarèsADISQ on November 11, 2020 at 8 p.m. at https://palmaresadisq.ca/.

ABOUT ODREII

Born and raised in Montreal, RnB Soul singer songwriter Odreii grew up in a very musical environment. After studying music in London and winning multiple songwriting contests, Odreii came back and toured with Naadei around Canada. Some of those performances included SXSW, Osheaga Presents, MURAL Festival, and Festival des Mongolfieres, where they both opened for Wyclef Jean.

Odreii then worked on her project, and released an EP and a single ''Runs In Mi Blood'' released in May 2019. The single peaked at #3 on PalmarèsADISQ’s chart, featuring the most played tracks on Quebec's english radio stations. Her single Go Solo, a collaboration with DJ Kleancut released in 2020, got them the iHeartRadio artists of the month title in June 2020.
