MELINA

NEW ALBUM "REVIVAL"

AVAILABLE ON ALL PLATFORMS

EXCLUSIVE "REVIVAL" RELEASE CONCERT AT

AU CABARET LION D’OR

TONIGHT, OCTOBER 22nd, 2024

Montreal, QC, October 22nd, 2024 – MELINA proudly announces the release of her highly anticipated album Revival, now available on all platforms. To celebrate the occasion, she will take the stage tonight for an exclusive launch concert at Cabaret Lion d'Or. Following her previous releases: "Anchor" (April 2024), "What About Now" (May 2024), and her lead track "Revival" (September 2024), the album Revival brings together these powerful tracks, weaving them into a cohesive journey that draws audiences in with its vulnerability and optimism.

After working on the project for the past six years, Melina finally unravels her most vulnerable and personal work to date; Revival speaks of her twenties in a very powerful and authentic way, with a sound saluting her musical influences such as Sara Bareilles, Adele and Sam Smith. With the participation of renowned artists such as Kim Richardson and Dorian Sherwood in the choirs, Melina sets the bar high with this first album, coming with a high-quality project that makes her stand out on the music scene.

Track List:

1) Once Upon a Dream

“Once Upon a Dream" is the beginning, right where it all started. Back to the essence; the dream. The A Capella arrangements is a salute to my high school days as a member of an A Capella group which allowed me to travel across the states in contests and realize that music was more than just a passion, it was a vocation. This song represents all the hopes and dreams echoing in my mind, just wanting to find THE way to get there; once upon a dream.

2) Anchor

"Anchor" is an ode to those who become our anchors in the middle of our wildest storms. This song celebrates the personal journey to self-recovery, where fragility meets strength; where cultivating our faith in ourselves and listening to our own little voice becomes the ultimate strength that carries us through and gets us back on our feet again, stronger. It came to me when I felt completely lost and confused, as if my inner-artist was asking me to be my anchor. This song became the starting point of my self-reconnection.

3) What about Now

"What About Now" is about perseverance and self-growth, a reminder to trusting the process; everything happens for a reason and leads us exactly where we are supposed to be, in its right timing. To me, it is about trusting myself and my instincts. My journey to get here has been hard but has also proved to me that I can do this, that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. It is about trusting myself and reclaiming my power. So what about now? I am going for it.

4) How It Ends

“How It Ends”, this one is a letter to my inner-artist. When going through a burn-out, I stopped singing for months and convinced myself I would not sing again, or make a living off my music - that it was not possible, I did not believe it was possible anymore. But denying the existence of my inner-artist was denying my own essence and at one point, I realized I could not go on without her; she is my purpose, this is what I am supposed to be doing in life; I have to sing.

5) Silver Lining

“A silver lining” is like a glimpse of light, of hope - kind of like a rainbow, something that lets us know everything will be alright. The short length of the song holds meaning; even the smallest of rainbows would help us holding on to the better days.

6) The Wreckage

“The Wreckage”, I have always had a hard time setting limits. I have always made sure everybody else was comfortable before checking-in with myself. Unfortunately, some situations or relationships happen to no longer fit us and we have to find the courage to walk away. This song is about stepping away from what we have outgrown, what no longer fits us - our needs, our desires, and how it is OK, even important to respect ourselves enough to walk away.

7) Find The Moon

"Find The Moon" speaks of the darker times, when we lose our spark and wonder if we will ever find it again.

8) Hope

“Hope”, there is this little girl in my life that I love as my own and I first wrote this song thinking about her, and ironically enough in the process of finishing this album, I once listened to this song and felt like I was

singing it to my younger self. This song is so healing, in so many ways, and thinking about both the little girls I wrote it for gives me strength to keep believing that dreams are achievable and anything is possible; so long as you believe and keep fighting for your dreams, you can only rise higher.

9) Where I Belong

"Where I Belong" is every insecurity mixed with every ounce of faith that things will work out. I wrote it when I had no idea where I was going but had the conviction that music was my calling and that I had no choice but to choose myself and go for it, or else I would regret it later down the road. I have always believed that things happen for a reason and that I will end up right where I am meant to; this song has become that reminder of mine - that fire burning deep inside is burning for a reason.

10) Revival

"Revival" is the phoenix rising from the ashes. It is the title-track of the album because it represents every song on it through its message; it is the revival of that inner-flame, the artist that trusts herself and does not wait anymore - she goes for it. Singing this song is so liberating, all the way to that very last note.

"This is the album I have always dreamed of making; getting to record my songs in the most organic way, with arrangements that match exactly what I had in mind when writing them - I have had a lot of goosebumps and pinch-me moments throughout the project. I also went through a burn out in the midst of creating it and ironically enough, those songs are what revived my creative flame; it is my testament to my twenties, to all I have learned and overcome to become who I am as a woman and as an artist, and I could not be more grateful and proud of this album.’’ – Melina

Aiming for the international scene, Melina worked alongside producer Jacques Roy (Corey Hart, Dominique Fils-Aimé) to bring together an album with a timeless and international sound, powerful organic arrangements with a modern approach; an album that sets Melina on the list of artists to watch. Recorded at Studios OPUS, the artist joins her most heartfelt and powerful vocals yet to her most honest and vulnerable lyrics to date, with melodies that are as catchy as they are healing, making you wanting to hear the album time and time again.

The record « Revival » will be available as of tonight at Cabaret Lion d’Or.
