WITH LU THE BEAST CAMP AND ELITE 5 CAMP


The Maizon Dort Fondation presents the 4th annual Lu the Beast Camp

Saturday and Sunday August 24th and 25th 2024


MONTREAL, QC – Friday August 16, 2024 – After proudly representing Canada in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Luguentz Dort returns home to give back to the community and celebrate with the 4th annual Lu The Beast Camp on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in Montreal-North. This event will offer a full day of basketball activities and learning opportunities for youth, including accommodation and provisions for the entire day.

 

Local adolescents of all ages have been invited to engage in a day filled with basketball games, practices, and Q&A sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Canada’s top coaches and Montreal superstar Luguentz Dort learning more about game and how to train while making new friends. As well as have the chance to go face-to-face with one of the NBA’s most renowned defenders and Olympian, Lu Dort.



The Elite 5 Camp

Additionally, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, Maizon Dort will conduct for the 2nd time The Elite 5 Camp, a day-long masterclass reserved for the top 50 most talented young athletes in Quebec. This session will offer in-depth guidance and insights into pursuing a career in professional basketball. Aspiring professionals will have the opportunity to learn, train, and compete alongside each other with direct input from Luguentz Dort and top coaches who have helped shape some of the greatest athletes, including Dort himself. Participants will receive valuable advice on preparing for their careers, comparing their preparation with Dort’s approach for the Olympics and the upcoming NBA season. Helping the next generation of top athletes to understand the realities of going pro and navigate the steps toward achieving success.



About Luguentz Dort

Born in 1999 to Haitian parents in Montreal-Nord, Luguentz Dort overcame numerous obstacles to become an internationally renowned basketball player. He began playing basketball at a young age, quickly demonstrating exceptional talent and unwavering determination. After a remarkable college career at Arizona State University, Dort joined the NBA in 2019, signing a five-year, $87.5 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 2022, he founded Fondation Maizon Dort with his family to improve the lives of young people in less fortunate communities in Montreal, Oklahoma City, and central Arizona through team sports.

 

"LuTheBeast" is known for his tenacious defensive play, agility, and ability to score in crucial moments. His inspiring journey, from humble beginnings in Montreal to NBA success, is a testament to his resilience and hard work.

 

In 2024, at the age of 25, Luguentz Dort was selected to represent Canada at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. It marks his first Olympic appearance, a significant milestone in his career. As a key member of the Canadian basketball team, Dort continues to strive for excellence and make his fellow Canadians proud.
