LUGUENTZ DORT ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF
MAIZON DORT FOUNDATION
MONTREAL, QC, August 16, 2022 – NBA player, Canada Basketball star and Jr. NBA Ambassador in Canada Luguentz Dort today formally announced the launch of Maizon Dort, a non-profit organization with the goal of helping improve lives of underserved youth in the communities of Montreal, Oklahoma City and Central Arizona. DoorDash Canada is proudly a founding donor.
“These communities have made me the player and person that I am today,” said Luguentz. “With the platform I have now, I want to do as much as I can to give back and make sure kids and families from underserved communities are afforded equal opportunities and support to go after their dreams.”
Maizon Dort will focus on promoting health and wellness for the youth. The foundation will have an emphasis on providing opportunities for kids to be active in team sports such as basketball and soccer.
“Not only did basketball and soccer allow me to be healthy and active as a child,” said Luguentz, “these team sports also kept me in a safe environment and on the right path to success. I learned principles such as hard work and teamwork that carry over to many aspects of my life today.”
The foundation’s inaugural event will be Luguentz’s second annual “LU THE BEAST CAMP,” which will occur the weekend of August 20th.
