36th FMG: A complete and consolidated lineup
Gatineau, August 1st, 2023 – With less than a month before the festivities of the 36th edition of the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival, discover the latest artists to complete the lineup!
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd: AN R&B EVENING WITH NE-YO AND K.MARO
Lebanese-Canadian artist K.Maro will be bringing the nostalgia of the 2000s to the FMG – a Canadian exclusivity this summer! Festival-goers will be treated to a double bill on Sunday, September 3rd, when he takes to the stage just before R&B artist NE-YO. A pop staple, K.Maro left his mark on an entire generation with his major hit 'Femme like U', taken from his second album La Good Life, which sold over five million copies worldwide and was certified a five-time diamond disc. The singer, songwriter, producer and businessman also runs a production and development agency, helping young artists launch their careers around the world.
DJ Dan D-Noy will kick off the evening on the Loto-Québec Stage, while Montreal artist Rêve will have the pleasure of keeping the party going on the Hydro-Québec Stage for the final FMG Late Nights show following NE-YO’s performance!
On the Hydro-Québec Stage in the late afternoon, Miro Chino, a finalist at the Festival de la Chanson de Granby in 2022, will take to the stage before Luce Dufault. With the energy of a storyteller, Miro Chino creates spellbinding worlds both on stage and in the studio. Behind each of his songs is a visual concept, which he will be sure to reflect on his debut album.
LA PATENTE À PAT: CARTE BLANCHE GUESTS UNVEILED
Surrounded by his friends and musical favourites, Patrice Bélanger will take to the stage on Friday, September 1st to present his carte blanche show. La patente à Pat will be a wild and colourful evening, very much in character for the spokesperson of the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival for the past 15 years. Luce Dufault, Guylaine Tanguay, William Cloutier, Geneviève & Alain and Mirani Coelho will join Jason McNally, Benoit McGinnis and Marc-André Fortin to create this unique musical evening!
"It's absolutely incredible to be able to bring all this talent together in one show. Festival-goers have no idea what they're in for! They'll be thrilled to hear the hits of Luce, William and Guylaine, as well as being surprised by medleys and group performances in the company of Geneviève and Alain, Benoit, Marc-André and Jason. In other words, a great big party, with lots of twists and turns! I promised you an open-air party, and here it is," says Patrice Bélanger enthusiastically.
DANCE SHOW
On Monday, September 4th, as part of Desjardins Family Day, five of the region's dance schools are joining forces to put on a unique show! Join dancers from École de danse Anick McConnell, Atelier de danse Carole Brouard, Studio Coïncidanse, Studio de danse FOOTSTEPS and Studio de danse MV. Solveig Langlois, a 3-time winner of Secondaire en spectacle who has made a name for herself in Quebec's competitive dance scene, will also be on stage to share her passion for movement and artistic expression.
Also taking to the stage over 5 days are Roxane Bruneau, Matt Lang, Clay and Friends, Claude Dubois, the stand-up artists from the Comedy Gala hosted by Matthieu Pepper (Arnaud Soly, François Bellefeuille, Rosalie Vaillancourt and Marylène Gendron), Banx & Ranx, Richard Séguin, Ludovick Bourgeois, Jeanick Fournier and many more!
