Financial contribution from Tourisme Québec under the
Tourism Industry Recovery Assistance Program (PARIT)
Gatineau, QC – The Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival Corporation (FMG) is pleased with the $1.12 million in financial support from the Ministry of Tourism announced today by Mathieu Lévesque, Deputy for Chapleau, on behalf of Caroline Proulx, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region. This support will be used to set up development and innovation projects.
This contribution will enable us to develop new products such as the multimedia night glow introduced during the 2023 edition. This flagship project, designed by 4elements, charmed audiences with its 30-foot-high hot-air balloon-shaped structure, illuminated every evening during the shows and featuring a 3D animated film projected onto its surface.
The Festival is currently working on a new project to be launched in 2025. This new project will include interactive entertainment activities and innovative display elements. The funding received will also enable the FMG to support digital development projects aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
In addition to the $1.12 million from PARIT, the Festival is proud to be able to count on the financial support of Canada Economic Development through its Tourism Relief Fund, Desjardins and Tourisme Outaouais for these various projects.
"The FMG organization feels incredibly privileged to be benefiting from this exceptional financial support from the Tourism Industry Recovery Assistance Program (PARIT) and would like to thank Tourisme Québec for believing in our projects. We would also like to thank Canada Economic Development, Desjardins and Tourisme Outaouais, who have already confirmed their contributions to the various projects that have come to fruition thanks to PARIT. Through these projects, and as a not-for-profit organization, the FMG is pursuing its mission to organize a large-scale event featuring a rich and diversified musical offering supported by the distinctive character of hot-air ballooning and fun experiences", says Marie-Chantal Giguère, President of the Board of Directors of the FMG.
“Our government is committed to supporting the tourism industry and boosting economic development in Quebec’s regions. That is why we are proud of CED’s financial contribution for the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival. This festival will make it possible to not only stimulate the regional economy and create good jobs, but also showcase the Outaouais region among visitors from across Canada and around the world. Congratulations to the Festival on this beautiful project!”, added the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
