FONO FESTIVAL KICKS OFF TOMORROW!

Presented by Beneva in collaboration with RBC

Québec City, September 9, 2026 – The countdown is almost over! The third edition of Fono Festival kicks off tomorrow on the Université Laval campus for three days of music, discovery and memorable encounters. From September 10 to 12, nearly 40 artists will take the stage across three venues, while Fono Conferences will bring together leading voices from the worlds of business, sports, politics, culture, technology and academia over two days.

Featuring JF Pauzé, SOMBR, Alessia Cara, Fredz, Natasha Bedingfield, Chance Peña, Ariane Moffatt, Angus & Julia Stone, Sofi Tukker, The Franklin Electric, Rymz and PELCH, Fono will offer three days, each with its own distinct atmosphere. The musical programming will unfold across three complementary spaces: Vallée Beneva, Boisé Coors Light and Forêt Électro.

THURSDAY: JF PAUZÉ, FREDZ AND ARIANE MOFFATT KICK OFF FONO

The opening night will set the tone right away. At Vallée Beneva, Québec City artist Goodbye Karelle will get the festivities underway, followed by Fredz, before JF Pauzé closes out the first night.

Over at Boisé Coors Light, Marco Ema will open the evening, followed by Brazilian group TechnoBrass and Ariane Moffatt.

Meanwhile, the Forêt Électro, completely redesigned this year with two stages, will come alive as soon as the site opens with Duppy Grlz, &YOU, Xaviera, LØXEN and Clara D, before American duo Polar Bears, in residence for all three nights of the festival, takes over.

FRIDAY: SOMBR, NATASHA BEDINGFIELD AND ANGUS & JULIA STONE

On Friday, Vallée Beneva shifts into pop mode with Sofia Camara, followed by Natasha Bedingfield, before the highly anticipated first Québec City appearance by SOMBR.

At Boisé Coors Light, Laura Schembri and Sebastian Gaskin will be followed by The Franklin Electric, and then Australian duo Angus & Julia Stone, making their long-awaited Québec City appearance after more than 20 years together.

The Forêt Électro will keep the energy going with DJ Lovely, Flytz, Noche, Xaviera, Clara D and Polar Bears.

SATURDAY: ALESSIA CARA AND SOFI TUKKER CLOSE OUT THE FESTIVAL IN STYLE

The final day will get underway earlier and culminate in two major performances. At Vallée Beneva, Meghan Oak, Rymz and Chance Peña will set the stage for Alessia Cara, who will bring the third edition of Fono to a close.

At Boisé Coors Light, Louis-Charles, Kinji00, Baby Nova and PELCH will take the stage before New York duo Sofi Tukker transforms the site into an open-air dance floor.

At the Forêt Électro, CHVCK, Lily Pita, Theo Feels, Kanatonik, Clara D, Turbine and Polar Bears will keep festivalgoers moving right through the final moments of Fono.

FONO CONFERENCES: WHERE IDEAS TAKE CENTRE STAGE TOO

Alongside the music, Fono Conferences will take place on September 10 and 11 at Université Laval’s Atrium De Koninck, featuring a series of interviews, panels and talks bringing together inspiring journeys and some of today’s most pressing issues.

Thursday will open with Geoff Molson, President and CEO of Groupe CH, in conversation with Alain Crête. The day will also feature a panel with Olympic medallist Laurent Dubreuil and FSA ULaval Dean Frank Pons, a talk by Fred Colantonio, and a conversation with Québec City Mayor Bruno Marchand, moderated by Pénélope McQuade.

On Friday, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will open the day alongside Alexane Drolet. Tasha Kheiriddin and Thierry Rodon will then explore issues surrounding northern sovereignty in a panel moderated by Émilie Dubreuil. Chris Bergeron will offer a thought-provoking look at artificial intelligence and fiction, before writer and leading Slow Movement advocate Carl Honoré closes out the second day.

Through this component, Fono takes the experience beyond the music stages, creating a space where music and ideas come together on one site.

SHOWS D’TROP

The shows d’trop will also return following last year’s success. At the end of each evening, a small group of festivalgoers selected through a contest will board a bus to a secret location, where a mystery artist will be waiting to perform an exclusive show.
