Festival d’été de Québec Goes Latin on July 11 with Luis Fonsi,
ARIA VEGA, Cruzito and FRIKITON!
Québec City, April 30, 2026 – The Bell Stage on Plains of Abraham will move to the rhythm of Latin music this July 11, as FEQ welcomes Luis Fonsi, a major figure in global Latin pop. The Puerto Rican artist, known in particular for the worldwide phenomenon Despacito, promises to get Québec City dancing alongside Colombian artist ARIA VEGA and Montréal artists Cruzito and FRIKITON. Together, they will bring festive Latin rhythms to life for an ever-growing audience, both here and abroad.
“Luis Fonsi is a major name in Latin pop, and we’re thrilled to finally revisit this missed appointment from 2022, which was cancelled due to weather. At the time, it was our first major Latin bet on the Plains, and we could already feel a contagious energy taking over downtown throughout the day. Since then, we’ve seen just how strongly audiences show up for this type of evening. We’re truly happy to return with a proposal like this one, which promises to be a beautiful crowd moment, and to give Luis Fonsi the chance to dazzle us both visually and musically. He more than deserves it!” says Louis Bellavance, Vice-President, Content and Artistic Direction at BLEUFEU.
About Luis Fonsi
Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and producer Luis Fonsi has enjoyed a career spanning more than 25 years, from Comenzaré in 1998 to El Viaje in 2024. Driven by countless hits, including the essential Despacito, he has earned numerous distinctions, amassed billions of streams and reached the top of international charts. A versatile artist, he has also ventured into film and children’s literature, while remaining philanthropically engaged through his foundation and various humanitarian initiatives.
About ARIA VEGA
Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Aria Vega offers urban music with Afro-Caribbean colours, driven by the rhythms and energy of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Nicknamed “La Nena de Quilla,” she is experiencing a meteoric rise, supported by several major collaborations soon to be unveiled. She shines a spotlight on Barranquilla’s culture through a modern and unapologetic universe. With her “Costeñita Core” approach, she celebrates the freedom, pride and attitude of Caribbean women through a musical proposal that is danceable, accessible and resolutely current.
About Cruzito
Born in Honduras and raised in Québec since childhood, Cruzito, also known as Edi Cruz, has established himself as a key figure in Québec’s urban Latin music scene. Revealed through Dime Que Sera and De Que Vale, he drew attention as far as Latin America, signed with Pina Records and collaborated with reggaeton figures including R.K.M & Ken-Y. The first Spanish-speaking artist to join Joy Ride Records, he relaunched his career in 2021 with Lagrimas y Lambos, an award-winning project that also earned an ADISQ nomination. After seeing his own FEQ appearance cut short by rain last year, Cruzito returns this time with the opportunity to fully reconnect with the audience.
About FRIKITON
FRIKITON is a Montréal collective dedicated to celebrating Latin cultures, transforming every stage into a true celebration. Driven by DJs, hosts and dancers, the project delivers a contagious energy at the crossroads of reggaeton, dembow, salsa, cumbia and Latin house. With strong artistic direction and a direct connection with the audience, FRIKITON offers a colourful, inclusive experience deeply rooted in Montréal’s Latin culture.
