DAMIEN ROBITAILLE - WORLD TOUR a huge success !
Montreal, October 13, 2021 – Damien Robitaille achieved his goal last weekend and was able to generously thank his many fans across the globe! On October 9th and 10th, some 375,000 people from over 15 countries attended his 24-hour virtual show, the Damien Robitaille - World Tour. During the interactive musical marathon, presented live and free of charge on Robitaille’s Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages, the Franco-Ontarian musician toured the world in music. Robitaille was able to last the entire 24 hours thanks to the support of about 30 on-site experts, ranging from technicians to a massage therapist. A physical and vocal feat never before seen on the Quebec virtual music scene!
The crowd’s reaction? Over 3,000 shares, more than 71,000 reactions (Like, Love, LOL, etc.) and roughly 22,000 comments across all 3 platforms. A generous virtual performance that thrilled Robitaille’s global fans – many of whom spent all 24 hours with him! They hailed from across Canada (Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Alberta, Manitoba & British Columbia), but also from further afield (France, United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Brazil, Algeria, Germany, Philippines & New Zealand).
“We did it – a 24-hour world tour!” Thank you to everyone involved in this crazy project. I only survived because of you!” – Damien Robitaille
During the 24-hour performance, viewers were able to dive into Robitaille’s world, rediscovering his top hits, posting comments, asking questions and making special requests. They were also treated to a few “surprise” guests from Canada’s French-language cultural scene, including Guy A. Lepage, Bruno Blanchet, Michel Rivard, Domino Santantonio, Nathalie Simard, Sonia Benezra, Lisa Leblanc, Geneviève Borne, Chef Stelio Perombelon and Bob the Chef – plus a special appearance from Quebec Premier, François Legault.
Damien Robitaille - World Tour was presented by 9e Vague in association with OBOX.STUDIO. 9e Vague would like to thank SODEC and the Maison de la culture Mercier for making this project possible.
